Call of Participation
ElMadina Arts is looking for performers in (story-comedy-dance-physical theater) who have a desire to produce ideas and programs on the Internet, in order to develop their presence on various electronic platforms and create new opportunities for their expression. We will do multiple thinking at the level of storytelling – comedy – dance – physical theater. We will focus on developing ideas, learning technical skills, and how to collaborate with specialists in digital production. The stay will last for six days in Alexandria, from 10 to 15 December 2021.
The Digital Transformation of Performing Arts
Digital transformation in all fields is a priority for any field of work globally. But that is difficult in the case of performers, because of it depends on live performance and audiences. This is why this international art residency comes from the Tikeya Program, as an attempt to think about ways to digitally transform performers. We will do multiple thinking at the level of Storytelling – Comedy – Dance – Physical Theater. The residency will focus on developing ideas and learning technical skills.
The participation conditions:
- – You have an Egyptian nationality.
- – Full-time workshop period.
- – You must be between 21 and 35 years old.
- – You have a clear idea of the program.
- – Do you have an idea for an episode of the program?.
- – Can you two participate together (writer – performer).
- – You have reasonable experience in the previous fields.

Instructors Information:
- Abd El Samee Abdallah: Artist, Art Director and Trainer
A multidisciplinary artist working in the arts sector for more than a year, he studied theater and multimedia and worked in theater productions and filmmaking, in addition to his contributions to arts management, where he worked on managing several art projects at the national, regional and international levels. Abdel Samie has extensive experience in the field of training on several topics such as filmmaking, digital narration, multimedia, creative writing and creative design, as he has implemented dozens of training workshops in many countries. He is the founder of the “Baharah Art Group” in Egypt, as well as a co-founder of the “Ataba Fann Foundation for Arts, Media and Training” in Palestine, in addition to being a member of many international cultural and artistic networks.- Ahmed Shawky: Photographer, Graphic Designer and Video Editor
He worked in the field of digital media for more than 10 years, participated in 30 international and local exhibitions in the field of photography and drawing, trainer of photography workshops in many educational institutions.
The project comes within the framework of the (Use Your Time Creatively) by (Erasmus+) and (Hors Villes) project, which is a project of various artistic residencies in partnership between ElMadina Arts (Egypt) and the Foundation for Dancing Citizens (Tunisia), with the support of the Arab Fund for Culture and Arts (AFAC) and the support of the Swiss Cooperation Office.
